FIRM FAITH IN MONTY
Received Friday, 7 p.m. LONDON, Oct. 30. Referring editorially to General Patton's criticism of# Field Marshal Montgomery, the Evening Nevvs says: ' ' When the Ameriealis have seen as niuch war as Britons, they will realise that wars are won not by those who don't make mistakes but by those who make the fewest. We shall just go on obstinately holding to our belief that Monty is a pretty good soldier with a prettv good> record. When all the Ameriean. experts have contradicted themselves over what shoixld or should not have been done, the facts about Field Marshal Montgomery will remain for the dispassionate to assess. He is not likelj' to worry. "
