Mr. H. G. Mackay, on account of I business reasons, has tendered his 1 jresignation as Levin agent of the New Zealand Insurance Company, a position he has held for a very long period of years. Mr. J. E. Fullarton has been appointed as his successor. The insignia of the DistinguishedService Order awarded to the late Lieut.-Colonel R. E. Romans was yesterday handed to his sisier, Miss ' Henrietta Romans, by the Gov|Mr. R. G. Romans, by the Gov-ernor-General, Sir Bernard Frey-^ berg, at a private ceremony during his official visit to Levin, Colonel Romans., who was commanding officer of the 23rd Battalion of the 2nd N.Z.E.F., was killed in action in 1943 during the Italian campaign.
