Helicopter Demonstrates Sea ' RescueWork

Received Wednesday, .7 p.m. LONDON, Oct. 22. A remarkable demonstration of the value of tae helicopter for sea rescue worK, was -given at Dungeness when a W estland-Sikorsky helicopter hovered over the s'amsnit of the liglithou.se and dropped a line to a man stantiing on, tlio 116 feet high gallery just below the light. PlaCing his feet in the stirrups attached to the end of the line, the maii was tlxsn v/hisued off the tower and iowered into a lifeboat. At one stage the helicopter hovered a little more than teh i'eet above the waves. The experiment was carried oat to ascertain whether helicopters could bt used to relieve marooned lighthouse aeepers.
