EMPLOYERS OPPOSE TIME OFF TO VOTE

— WELLINGTON, Oct. 22. The New Zealand Employers' Federation is to be asked to protest to the Government at the proposal to introduce legislation giving all persons entitled to vote in the Municipal eiections. time off from three o'clock on the afternoon of the eiections for the remainder of the day. A resolution to this effect was passed at the annual meeting of the Wellington Employers' Association. "It is definitely necessary for one and all in the Dominion to utilise every hour of working time with a view to overcoming the shortage oi materials and goods existing today," the resolution concluded.
