PLAYERS WHO WERE ORDERED OFF.
WELLINGTON, Oct. 20. Following receipt of • the report of tlie referee on the North-South match
at Invercargill, when two players, .T. G. Simpson and L. S. Gonnolly,-were ordered off, the management eommittee of the N.Z.R.U. decided to secure a report from each player on the charge. Thb ehairman, Mr. S. S. Dean, said he usually upheld a referee but in this case he felt the referee (s action had been too drastic. That was also the opinion of other members of the union and the New Zealand selectors who were present. The matter is to be reviewed after hearing the players' reply to the referee 's charge.
