The October meeting of the Women's Section of the R.S.A. was held in Laurvig's Hall on Saturday evening. Mrs. C. Guerin (president). presided over Mesdames Quinlan, Sell, Third, Young, Johnson,.Gampbell, Kenny and Robertson. Following a discussion it was decided to hold another Christmas party for the children this year. It was agreed that the fixing of a suitable date be held over until a future meeting. Members agreed that they would sell roses on Rose Day as in past years, and four members volunteered their services in this direction. After the formal business of the meeting had been completed, a competition was eondueted and resulted in Mrs. Sell being placed first, with Mesdames Kenny and Campbell equal for second place. Mrs. Young was the winner of the competition for a flour bag apron, with Mrs. Sell second and Mrs. Third third. The monthly bloom competition was also eondueted during the evening and resulted as follows: Mrs. Third 1, Mrs. Johnson 2, Mrs. Sell 3. The competition for next month's meeting will be for the prettiest apron for a small child, and the usual best. bloom. The ladies later entertained the menfolk of the R.S.A. at supper.
