WELLINGTON, Oct. 15. The total cost of the Royal Commission on Lieensing was £13,817 4s lOd, aecording to a return tabled in athe House of Representatives. Credits receivexl from the sale of eopies of the evidence amounted to £1741 12s, reduc ing the eost to £12,075 12s lOd. Details are: — ^Fees and expenses of members £7365 13s 3d, salaries and expenses of Crown counsel, seeretary, reporters and other staff £5384 12s 6d, witnesses ' expenses £20 10s 2d, misceilaneous £1046s 8s lld. This return, does not include the salary of the chairman as a Judge of the Supreme (Jourt for approximatelv 18 months nor the eost of printing the report whieh was a Parliamentary paper and was undertaken by the Legislative Departraent.
