N.Z. LEAGUE TEAM BEATS LEIGH

Received Thursday, 9.45 a.m. LONDON, Oct. 15. The New Zealand rugby league team defeated Leigh by ten points to five. Leigh led by two points to nil at half-time. Due to injuries caused chiefly by the hard ground, the New Zealanders have only 12 men flt of 26. All four half-backs are on the injured list. The manager, Mr. Redwood, stated that no message will be sent to New Zealand for reinforcements, nor will New Zealanders playing With English clubs be asked to help the touring team. If there are further injuries the team will be in a difficult position, and it is possible New Zealanders might be borrowed from English clubs.
