. Today is the 33rd anniversary of the dfeparture frbxh Wellington of the 10 transports which took the Main Bpdy of the 1st N.Z.E.F. to Egypt. The force, a brigade group plus the lst Reinforcements, eonsisted of 8499 all ranks and 3946 horses. Every Tefritorial Regiment in New Zealand was represented. The transports were Maunganui (flagship) , Tahiti, Ruapehu, Orari, Limerick, Star of India, Hawke's Bay, Arawa, Athenie and Waimana. During the next four years, 43 dra'fts of reinforcements followed the Mdlh Bddy,* whose ihenibefs fought ih Egypt, Gallipoli, Palestine and France.
