A frtll meeting of the Arab League Gouncil last night deeided to ask Arai) States lo mobilise their forces on the frontiers of Palestine aiul it is believed Syria and Egypt have already begun -to do so, says the Times' Beirut correspondent. States not bordering Palestine are to l)e asked to eontribute men to stand with the others. Delegates expressed the opinion that the deeisions taken at Bludan envisaging eeonomic and diplomatic aetion, wcre out of date and preparations should be made for military aetion against the Jews. They were pessimistic about the outcome of the United Nations discussions and declared that the Arabs must prepare 011 the assmnption that partition had been deeided on. The technieal details of military aetion are to be prepared by a military committee sitting today. The correspondent says last night 's deeisions were regarded by League delegates as the turning point in the struggle for Palestine and were adopted in great solemnity. Ai'ter l'urther meetings of the subeommittees today, a final full meet ing on the Palestine issue will be held at. the wcekend. An Arab spokesman told the British United Pre.ss Beirut correspondent: "This'time we mean business. If the British abandon the countrv and the Jews lift a finger we will be ready to enter Palestine to del'end Arab rights." Reuter 's Beirut eorrespondent quotes Azzam Pasha as saying he had already reeeived oifers froni former British Ariny and Air Foree offirers to fight on the Arab side.
