SCHOOL CHILDREN'S EFFORT „ "Tin Day" on Tuesday next promises to be a success. The children of the Levin Primary School have taken up the -idea with enthusiasm. The result of the first day's appeal was 113 tins and this morning a further 377 were handed in, The headmaster (Mr. H. F. McClune) hopes to have 500 tins by Tuesday. The children are busy preparing posters and banners for their procession on Tuesday. It is hoped fo have a band for the march, which leaves the school at 1.30 p.m. for the post office, where tables will be erected upon which the children will place their tins as they march by. . If the citizens of the town and district respond on Tuesday and Friday next as the children have aone, Levin should have a fine - range of food to ship to the Mother Country for Christmas.
