Terms of imprisonment may be expected in future by land agents who: persuade clignts to ignore property values fixed by the Land Saies Court by making "under the table" pay- , ments. This was stated by Mr. J. 3EL Luxford, S.M., when fining Joseph J ames Lawson £100 and ordering the • caneellation of his land agent 's licence. : Lawson had been .convieted of inducing 1 Alfred George Trotter .to make a seeret payment of £450 for a property. Thevendor was Leonard Alfred Robottom,' The Magistrate said tlie facts of fhe case seemed to merit imprisonment. A . land agent was supposed to be a -fit and proper person to carry on his ..ealling. 1
