The Tokomaru Guild had sent eleven parcels sinee the scheme was inaugurated, and the guild at Shannon had made a feature of packing its parcels when sufficient foodstuffs were available. The vicar said that he had received a letter of warm appreciajtion from the rector of Holy Trinity Church, Clapham, England, in which he stated that there were a great number of families where the mother was either too busy or too °ld to stand for hours in the food queues, with the result that there were many cases of real hardship, and the food parcels which were sent from the Shannon parish were greatly appreciated. The Tokomaru Guild had received individual letters from recipients of parcels, all of whom referred to the joy and happrness created by the thought behind the gifts.
