I he Minister said Brigadier W. G. Gentrv, O.B.E., D.S.O. and bar, who had a dist ingnished war recurd, would atteud the 194.S eourse of ihe Imperial Defence College, London, while Captain I,. A. Pearce and Captain L. A. Jverniodtt will atteiul a eourse commencing in January 11)47 at the Staff College, Camberly. Sonie 120 ofticers from all, parts of the Enipire attend the Staff College everv year. It is regarded as the Jirst step to higher appointments in the Army, consequently competitiou to obtain nomination is intense. Botli otiicers passed the entrance examination conducted bv the War Ofliee and there is'no doubt they will be able to hold their own witli other otiicers from military forces of the Enipire. The Minister said he was eonlident all these oliicers who were going abroad would be a eredit to their country and on their return to Xew Zealand, the forces here would beneflt as r- result of their training ov ers'uis.
