COMMUNION SUNDAY
WORLD -WIDE OBSERVANCE TOMQRROW Tomorrow will again be observed by the church as a day of specia.1 Communion. The idea is not that there should be any suggestion of inter-communion or combined services, but that each church should celebrate the Sacrament of Holy Communion according to, its own custom, that a special effort should be made to seeure the presence of every mernber, and that there should be an emphasis- on the unity of all Christians symbolised by this simultaneous observance. This is the eighth annual occasion of its kina, and it is estimated that now over 15 million Christians share in this aet of worship. The National Couneil of Churches has appealed to all constituent .churches to take part. Its, challeng'e is emphasised in the following message: "Jesus Christ our Lord calls us during these "days into a closer fellowship with Him and with one another. In the light of past experience with its observance, we feel that world-wide Communion Sunday has a significant eontribution to make towards the unity for which our Lord prayed."
