DRIVING WITHOUT CARE
An accident in which a ChinCse, ! Wong Yik, *market gardener, of johau, was injured, had a sequel in ! the Magistrate's Court, Levin, yes- ; terday, when John Henry SundI gren, poultry farmer, of Beach I Road, was charged with driving his j vehiele without due care and attention. The accident occurred at 6 p.m. on Juiy 15, Wong Yik being knock- ! ed down near the Ohau railway ! station by a vehiele driven by • defendant. Appearing for Sundgren, Mr. J. ! Todd said that defendant saw two | cars approaching him. One had its - lights dipped, but the o.ther had | not. He dipped his own lights, but was dazzled by the giare from the lights- of the oncoming vehiele. Defendant, he submitted, had I exercised all the care and attention I possible. J The magistrate imposed a fine oi' £1, with court costs 10s.
