Due In New Zealand On Sunday Week
Covvriaht)
Received Friday, 11.50 a.m. PERTH, Oct. 3. Two hundred members of New Zealand's co'ntingent of boy scouts, returning from the world jartiboree in France, have arrived at Fremantle in the liner Atlantis. The ship will proceed direct from Fremantle to Wellington, where it is expected to arrive on Sunday, October 12. Because the ship was several 'hours late, the West Australian Boy Scouts' Association was unable to proceed with its plans for the entertainment of the co'ntingent, but immediately on arrival the New Zealand scouts were accorded a reception by the Mayor of Fremantle. The contingent is not complete as 40 scouts had to remain in England for up to three months. The number there are taking advantage of the visit to gain experience with the head officers of the firms which employed them in England. During the voyage G. Wilson, of New Plymouth, fractured an arm. Commissioner C. Hall says that conditions are excellent and that the boys have proved a "grand crowd." He adds that those who remained in England are getting useful training in their professions. Some were working in factories and others 011 English farmlands. The Dunedin group was entertained in Edinburgh by Professor Aitken, of Edinburgh Univer.sity, formerly of Dunedin.
