W- Wilson, district manj ager of the Public Trust Office, who ihas resided at Levin for the past 22 I years, leaves on Wednesday next to (take up residence in Christchurch, j During Mr. Wilson's long stay in 'Levin he has made a large number \ of friends, all of whom will regret |his departure. He has proved a ! popular and capable officer, and will be missed by the residents of the ;Whole district. Mrs. Wilson will i accompany her husband to Christchurch. J Full military honours were !accorded at the funeral at Chofu . j of Corporal Hugh Cecil Withers of i the Sixteenth Workshops who died i in hospital on Sunday following an : j operation. Corporal Withers, who ■jwent from Palmerston North, : } arrived in Japan with the relief force in August. The service was • ! conducted by the Rev. H. G. Tay- , : lor, senior chaplain to the Forces, and was attended by Captain P. W. Joplifi representing the Commander of the Second N.Z.E.F.
