LEVIN DISTRICT DELUGED Following a particularly dry montll in which only 2.95 inehes of "rain fqll, Oetober in Levin had a bad starf yesterday when 99 points of rain, a shade uhder one inch, fell from 7 a.m. yesterday to 7 a.m. this morning. These figures were recorded by Mr. H. Harvey, Senr., Cambridge Street. Light rain set in during yesterday afternoon, gradually increasing as the day progressed. Heavy rain lashed the town and district in the evening, saturating local gardens and overflowing gutters. Intermittent light rain fell during the early hours pf this morning- Perfect spring weather was experienced in the district today.
