WIN FOR N.Z. BAND

SYDNEY, Sept. 30. The Rydnev committee of the New South XVales Band Association- has disqualilied the Bathurst District .Band from winning the B grade own seiee* tion section of the Australian champiouships at Newcastle. The order of prize-winners in tliis section is now: — Auckland Waterside Junior Band, .1; Waratah Xlay field Band, 2. The hrst prize in the sectio# is £150. In announeiug the decision the secretarv of the association said that two players in the Bathurst Band were not registered with either the New South Wales or the Queensland Band Association. He read a letter from the Australian Band Council saying that the eouncil xvould seek an injunction to withhold the prize money unless the New South Wales Association, which eonducted the contests, disqualilied the Bathurst Band.
