Whitebait on the Run It is reported that there has been quite a good run of whitebait in the Manawatu River. Some good catches are reported from Foxton, but so far the catches around the Buckley and Moutoa banks have not been large. It is hoped that the bait will reach this area within a few days. Although the season opened on September 1, there have been no whitebait in the river owing to the numerous freshes, which have caused the water to become very discoloured. On Saturday October 4, a gala day will be held on the green, when an invitation is extended to all new and intending members ' to be present. The Croquet Club will also open its season on October 18.
