WOMAN REMANDED ON ARSON CHARGE

WELLINGTON, Sept. 29. Bridget Veronica Henty, nee O'Neill, domestic, aged 49, was charged before Mr. A. M. Goulding, S.M., today that on or about September 14 she wilfully set fire to a dtfrelling-house at 210 Nelson Street, Hastings, tliereby committing arson. The police asked that sht be remanded to appear at Hastings on October 14. For accused, eounsel said that she intended to defend the charge. She was a widow residing in Wellington and had her own home. The remand _ was granted, bail being allowed in her own recognisance of £150, with oue surety oi £150.
