VICTORIOUS DRIVE OF 2ND N.Z.E.F. IN ITALY
Receiv*ed Wednesdav, 7.0 p.m. LONDON, .Sept. 24. The story of the Second Kew Zealand Divisiou's vietorious- drive from the Senio River to Trieste in the spring. ;of 1945. is told by. M&jor GeofFrev Cox, Af.B.E., intelligence oiiicer of the division during its final Italian offensive, in his latest book "The Road to Trieste," oubiished this week in London.
Mr. .Mauriee Edelman, AI.P., in Tlie Tribune, says Major Cox has produ'ced a book which must always retain a high place aniong war histories, not only for its writing and its records but also for the liberal- spirit in -which Major Cox writes of the little publicised wTork of the Italian partisans. The book contains manv striking descriptions of action and accura.te portraits not only of senior officers of the division but also of junior officers and the ranlc and file. It also explains something of the underlying forees which welded the 2nd Kew Zealand Division into one of.the war's most mobile and successful siiock striking forces. "The Road to Ti'ieste" is shortly to be published in a uniform edition in Kew Zealand.
