OTAKI FOOTBALLERS ON TOUR

A very pleasant and experience gaining time was spent by the Rahui third grade footballers last Saturday when they journeyed to Masterton to play Red Star. Although beaten, Rahui gave a good exhibition and continued to show great improvement. Red Star were heavier and older, but oncg Rahui settled down they treated the spectators to delightful rugby. Red Star won by ten points to five. After the game the visitors were entertained and Messrs. Howard (vice - president) and Harding (coach) welcomed them and congratulated them on their enterprise in sending a team so far to play. They hoped Red Star would be able to repay the visit next year. Messrs. C. Rodgers, c. Pussell and S. Wylie suitably replied, and hoped Red Star wou\d make it possible to renew the friendships made. Mr. Bert Hurley ably controlled the game. In addressiiig the Rahui team later, he congratulated them not only on their game but on their fine sportsmanship and behaviour. After a dance the long journey was m^de back and although very tired, ihe boys voted the day a huge success, and were grateful to their club and officials for making such a dav possible. _ K. Wilton scored for Rahui and R. Giddens converted. A. "Winterbuvn, W. Waka, W. Cook and K. Wilton played outstanding football. ___
