— COURTS TO BE IMPROVED FURTHER The annual meeting of the Caledonian Tennis Club was held in St. Andrew's . Presbyterian Church sehqplroQm on Tuesday last. The electioh of officers resulted in the following, appointments : — President: Rev. A. Salmond; vicepresidents: Messrs. A. Bodley, D, J. Gardiner, J. A: Chapman and C. Bqrtholomew; club captain: Mfs. A. Challies; ylce-edptain : " ]V£iss p. Brash; secretary: Miss M. Macartney; treasurer: 'Mr. I. Brash;' cpmmittee : Messrs. Ingram and Henley and Misses P. Rowe and B. Young. It was qnanimously agreed that further' improvements should be carried out on the club's property in Stuckey Street and that one court should be broqght into first class condition for this season, the second court to be broken, levelled and pregared for .cpmplete relaying. Meqibers ' expressed their appreciation of the work done by Messrs. Anderson, Munro and Bodley in replacing the fence at the Saxton Street end of the courts, and eieaning up the area around the courts. It was depided tb aim at holding the opening day on October 18. A working pee will be held on Saturday, October 11. For the.cQming season the subseription will be £fl for men and 15s fqr ladies, reducible in each case by •2s 6d if subscriptions are paid before December 31. The junior subscriptio'n wi'li be flve shifiings.
