AUCKLAND, Sept. 7. Asked whether Kew Zealand could buy coal from South Africa as Australia was unuble to supply any and buy ing from America iuvolved expenditure of dollars, the Primo Minister (Mr. Frascr) said it sounded a good idea. No coal . was available from South Africa wlien iiiquirics were made some time ago, but he would ask the Ministei of Mines (Mr. McLagan) for details oi the present position. Large quantities of coal were exported from South Africa to the United Kingdom during the war.
