SECOND ROUND ALMOST COMPLETED The second round of the Shannon Badminton Association's competition matches are almost completed and the following are the results: — Men's open championships: G. Fitzgerald defeated G. Clough 15 — 4, L. Burling defeated B. Barber 15 — 5, O. Tippler defeated R. Grant 15—8. Ladies' open championships: Miss J. Parr defeated Miss H. Gardner 15 — 2, Miss S. Sunley defeated Miss S. Johnson 15 — 9. Men's handicap singles: G. Fitzgerald defeated G. Clough 15 — 7, V. E. Tippler defeated D. Pedersen 15 —12. Ladies' handicap singles: Mrs. A. Richards defeated Miss H. Gardner 15 — 13. Combined handicap doubles: Miss S. Johnson and T. S. Downes defeated Miss C. Burke and G. Fitzgerald 15 — 5, V. E. Tippler and Miss S. Sdnley 'defeated MISS" G. Forbes and O. H. Tippler 15 — 13. As it is desired that the final round be completed this month, the committee request those players who 'have not played their matches to do so as soon as possible.
