NEW RUBBER FACTORY IN OPERATION
WELLINGTON, Sept. 5. The furthest advanced of the rubber factories planned for Hutt Valley, is that of Eubber Distributors Ltd. at .Harefield where' an establishment involving £1,000,000 in construction costs md plant, is nearing completion. A start has already been made With the installation of heavy machinery from overseas. The conipany, in its own faetory and in that of its subsidiary, is now producing a wide variety of moulded rubber goods and most of the industrial and household gloves used in New Zealand. The faetory is the main souree for toy ballooiis and will shortly be producing eleetricians ' high voltage gloves and surgeons' gloves. The firm will'also make gumboots fbr whidi the conipany holds one of the two lic-ences granted in New Zealand and any surplus capacity of the new plant will be used for many new lines. Experieneed kev personnel have been brought from England to supervise the erection ot the plant and to control the production of gumboots and other lines.
