FEDERATED FARMERS AND PIG COUNCIL

The IHanawatu Daiiy Section of Eederated Farmers vesterday resolved to accept an offer by the Wellington Distriet Pig Couneil of increased represeutation on the council, this course being adopted in place of the suggested creation of a speeial pig section within the structure of Federated Farmers Ihe step.was taken following the report of a speeial sub-comraittee of th rection which recommended the aeceptance of the pig council 's offer. The offer of the council was as foilows: "That as from next financial yeai each provincial distriet of Federated f Farmers ili the council 's area be in vited to appoint a representative from its members to the couneil, it being understood that these representative" will take a seat on the management committee of the council." (2) "Thal each provincial distriet of the federation be in vited to submit the names of four levy paying pig producers in "their areas who will take their plaees as members of the couneil a£ from the beginning of the next financial year." The report pointed out that Mr. J. T. Davis had been elected by the piginjlustry to sit on the Dairy Section Council, l;hus following up the resolution of the couneil that until the pig industry was organised a representative of the Uominion Dairy Produce Section should be appointed to sit on the "National Pig Council and that the pig council be invited to reeiprocate.
