FIVE CHINESE DIE IN TENEMENT FIRE
Received Friday, 10.25 a.m. SINGAPORE, Sept. 4. Five Chinese — three adults and wo children — were found burned to death on the top floor of a twoitorey building in a poor tenement irea of Singapore when fire gutted :he buiiaing today. Two more children died and one was seriousy injured as a result of panictricken residents tossing themelves from windows 35 feet to the .oadway. A child' who survived was :aught by a bystander as she fell.
