PRETTY WEDDING AT OTAKI

McGU|GAN — WYLIE A very pretty wedding was solemnised at All Saints' Church,- Otaki, on Saturday, August 23, when Evelyne Pearl, second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. I-I. G. Wylie, Otaki Railway, and Robert, second son of the •late Mr. and Mrs. McGuigan, Dunedin, were joined in the bonds of holy matrimony. The officiating minister was Rev. Canon H. E. K. Fry. The bride, who was escorted by her father, was daintily attired in a long-sleeved white satin gown, with scalloped train, and fulllength embroidered tulle veil, held with a coronet of orange blossom. She was attended by her two sisters, Una and Mavis, as bridesmaid and matron of honour respectively, and they wore long bodiced frocks of scarlet plush velvet and full white net skirts with large embroidered scarlet velvet spray, their head-dress being coronets of net and velvet to match. Both wore long mittens of white lace. j The bride and bridesmaids all car- ' ried shower bouqets of winter roses, narcissi and maidenhair fern. The tiny flower girl was Maureen ]Vylie, niece of the bride, who looked very sweet in a frock of scarlet plush velvet bodice and long-frilled white net skirt. She had a white net posy on her hair and carried a basket of flowers. When leaving the church the bride l was presented with a lucky horseshoe by her little nephew, Ronald Wylie. The bridegroom was attended by Mr. Harry Branch as bestman and Mr. Robert Walker as groomsman. A reception was afterwards held in the Anglican Parish Hall. The young couple were the recipients of many telegrams of congratulations and a large variety of useful presents. Mr. and Mrs. McGuigan, whose future home wili be in Otaki, later left by car for Wellington, returning to Paraparaumu ori Monday and going south by piane where the honeymoon wili be spent. The bride travelled in a blush pink frock trimmed with sequins and small black veiled hat,. with black accessories; also a brown fur coat, the gift of the bridegroom.
