VARSITY WINTER TOURNAMENT WON BY OTAGO
WELLINGTON, Sept. 1. With a total of 33 J points, Otago won the New Zealand University winter touniament which fluished today. Victoria was second with 251 points, Auckland tliird with 23:j, Canterbury fourth with 15:1, Massey 41, Lincoln i. Canterbury covered itself with glory in winning the drinking horn by a clear glass and several swaliows. Tcams of six from the f'our colleges participated in the event. In the final relay the Canterbury team got through in 22.2 seconds, an average time of 3.7 seconds per handle. The following recomniendations for N.Z.U.
