BODY OF JOCKEY FOUND IN GUTTER
SYDNEY, Sept. 1. "VVhen a battered hody was seen lying in a Parlinghurst gutter Jate on Saturday niglit, nohody took mucn notice hecause, as the police were tohi later, "as a rule little notice is taken of men lying in the gutter hecause the area is frequented by hunian derelicts. " It was not until Sundav morningthat tlie police were called to the scene. They found that the man was lying in a pool of idood, and that he had ohviously heen in a fight 'as there were severe injuries to his neck ano bruises on the faee. The man died or a fractured skull. Inquiries disclosed that he was Xeil Joseph MeKenna, a well known joekey and the son of Mr. Xeil MeKenna, the secretary of the Xew South Wales Owners ' and Trainers ' Association. Identification was by the clothing only as tlie faee Avas almost unrecognisahu even to the father. Early tliis mornnif. a man was charged with the murtler.
