Ohio, won the 5000 dollars Canadian national exhibition swimming chamipionship at Toronto in 147mins. 7secs, clipping 62secs off the record for the live miles event set by her aunt, May Looney, in 1984. Aunt May, also in today 's race, crawled in at a fair paee to oceupy third position. Bernice was the j-oungest swimmer in tlie race. The motlier of a two months' old daughter ffnished seeond. There were twelve starters, one of whom was a 55-years- ' old woman who retired after swimming j two miles.
