CROQUET CLUB ELECTS ITS OFFICERS

The annual general meeting of the Otaki Municipal Croquet Club was held recently at the home of Mrs. McBeth. Those present were Mrs. Alex. Wilson (in the chair), Mesdames McBeth, Synnott, Davis, Cobb, Silverwood, Purvis, Shaw, Young and Nicolson. Apologies were received from Mesdames E. Cook, Gimblett and Evans. ■ The. election of officers for the new season was as .follows: — Patroness: Dr. Atmore; president: Mrs. A. Wilson; vice-presidents: Mesdames Morton, D. Richards, H. B. Edhouse, J. Cooksley and Mr. H. Witchell; secretary: Mrs. L. G.. Gimblett; club captain; Mrs. R. Purvis; vice-captain: Mrs. Evans; lawn committee: Mesdames Silverwood, Purvis, Evans and Gimblett; match committee: Mesdames Cobb, Silverwood, club captain and the vice-captain. - The opening date was left to be decided later on. The meeting closed with a vote of thanks to the chair and to 'Mrs. McBeth for her hospitality.
