Received Wednesday, 10.10 a.m. LONDON, Aug. 26. Persian diplomatic officials said they were fnvestigating rumours that 10,000 Barzani Turdish tribesmen, which the Soviet Army was backing, were massed in Soviet Azerbaijan on the north-west frontier of Persia, reports the Associated Press' Teheran correspondent. Some observers said the rumeurs were designed to exert pressure on members of the Persian Parliament, which is studying the Persian-Soviet oil agreement signed in 1946. A band of about 1500 Iraqi Kurds recently escaped into the Soviet Union. Observers think this band might be used to foment trouble and give the Russians an excuse to enter Persia to maintain frontier security.
