SPORTS CLUBS GATHER

delightful social evening A delightful social evening was held in the Parlsh Hall on Wednesday evening, when the badminton club members were entertained by members of the table tennis club. The evening took the form of a table tennis match between the two clubs. Following some very interesting games, the table tennis club proved too strong for the badminton players and won 18 games to 7. Following the delightful supper served by the ladies of the table tennis club, Mr. R. Herbert announced the resuit of play and extended congratulations to the badminton players on their fine performance. He expressed the wish that the two clubs could meet more often in friendly games, as it served to . bring the sports organisations of the .town together. Replying on behalf of the badminton club, the president, Mr. Lester Burling, sincerely. thanked the table tennis club for a most enjoyable evening, and extended an invitation to the table tennis players to attend at the Druids' Hall and try their hand at badminton. It is hoped that the match can be arranged in the near future. The table tennis club is in the fortunate position of having a number of badminton .members, and it should be in a position to give the badminton club - some strong opposition.
