NEW AUSTRALIAN FILM
On his arrival in Australia, from a recent visit to America, Mr. N. P. Pery, managing director of Columbia Pictures in Australia, and producer of "Smithy," announced that plans had been made by Columbia for the production of a second film in Australia, designed to be the most ambitious motion picture ever to be made in .the history of the Australian industry. Mr. Pery indicated that the story will be typically Australian. As an observer noted, it is possible that another Ron Randell may be discovered in Australia. § Spcaking of Randell, Mr. Pery said
that his meteoric rise to the principal role to Ginger Rogers and Cornel Wilde, in Columbia's new production, "It Had to.be You, was the talk of Hollywood.
