SHANNON PLUNKET SOCIETY

monthly meeting Those present at the August committee meeting of the Shannon sub-branch of the Plunket Society were Mesdames L. W. Wison (president), C. Tremewan (secretary), J. Creagh, F. Edmonds, J. McNeile, E. Barber, R. Lind and Denton. The nurse's report for July was as follows: — "Visits to Shannon 5, to homes 7; babes to rooms 73, adults 70, pre-school children 4. The attendance for the month at the rooms was better." Colds are still prevalent. In respect to the proposed building of a ladies' rest room in Shannon, the secretary read a letter from the head office of the Plunket Society in reply to a request from the Shannon sub-branch for advice. This letter stated that the Shannon sub-branch should not allow any building to be erected on land owned by it. As a result of this letter, the committee decided that it would now be unnecessary to call a meeting of the advisory board. The secretary was instructed to write to Mrs. Hyde asking her to inform the rest room committee accordingly. A motion was carried that the meetings start at 2.30 p.m. in the future instead of 3 p.m. At a previous meeting a presentation had been made to Mrs. J. ; Creagh, immediate past secretary, and as this was the last time she would be present, the president took the opportunity of saying goodbye and wishing her every happiness in her future home at Waipawa. ,
