NASH CUP COMPETITION
With one series of games yet tc play to complete the round," the Nash Cup competition is being very closely fought out by Athletic, Otaki-Rahui and Foxton, with Wanderers dropping out.as a result of their defeat on Saturday last. The points position is as follows: Otaki-Rahui and Athletic 1 each; Foxton 6; Wanderers 4; and Shannon and Hui Mai 0. Saturday's game ' between Wanderers and Atfiletic was hard and fast. N&ther side was taking any chances, but Athletic scored the only points with an unconyerted try "to emerge with the honours. The outstanding players for Athletic were W. Galloway, whose line kicking was faultless; Geoff. Sciascia, who many times gained much ground with penetrating runs into the opposition's territory; Hudson .and Cameron, who both showed their ability in solo runs;. De Castro, whose. defence. .was .creditable; and Fletcher and Corbishley, who combined well in the scrums. In the Wanderers backs Gordon Sciascia showed his value at halfback by getting the ball away smartly from the base of the l scrums. Winiata proved a very j tricky five-eighths, while, Brough- i ton, Seymour and Skilton all play- ! ed creditable games.
