WAITARERE'S AUGUST MEETING Mrs. Fagan presided at the AugI ust meeting of the Waitarere I Women's Institute and welcomed i members and friends. Apologies !for absence were received from [Mesdames Hood, Aldrich, Turton, [Coleman and Miss Stanley. j A very interesting demonstration of rug making was given by Mrs. James, of Halcombe, and she was accorded a heartyvote of thanks. The roll call was a favourite recipe and members were able to note some good recipes as a result. Mesdames Warrington and Stanley were the hostesses for the afternoon. The competition results were as follows: — Something new from something old, the garments to be given to CORSO: Mesdames Fagan and Benning 1 (equal) . Mrs. Fagan 2, Mrs. Stanley 3. Plain scones: Mrs. Fagan 1, Mrs. Warrington 2, Mrs. James 3. Best bloom: Mrs. Fagan 1, Mrs. Benning 2, Mrs. Weldon 3. '
