DIED THROUGH WORKING IN ATOMIC PLANT
Received Monday, 10.30 a.m. • WASHINGTON, Aug. 17. Radio activity acquired during employment in the atomic bomb plant at Oakridge, Tennessee, has : caused the death of Wilton Earle, 39, according to the surgeon who j conducted an autopsy. Earle, who was empioyed at the atomic plant from February 1 to September 1, 1945, became ill six months ago and after death a Geiger counter showed his body was emitting gamma rays.
