LICENSING POLICY IN HOUSE NEXT WEEK

WELLINGTON, August 15. When the Prime Minister, in the House of Representatives, said the report of the Lieensing Commission inighi be discussed next week, Mr. Holland said an indication of the Government ;s policy on lieensing would be helpful. Mr. Fraser said it had never been the practice for any Government to adopt a policy on certain aspects of lieensing and he lioped that the exaxnple and pr.eeedent would be followed by the present Government. Mr. Holland: Preeedent wili establish that we do nothing about it. Alr. Fraser said the Comjnission's
report could be discussed on a nonparty basis and if the opinions offered by members sliQwed general agr.e.ement on partic.ular issues, tjra.t measure e-i agre.emen.t conld be used as a basis t'91 Legislation. A .committe.e of -the Rouse could be set up to niake recommendations. It would be generally agreed that th,e House could not accept the CQmmission's report and do nqthing prore about it.
