DANGER OF MOTORISED BICYCLES
ROTORUA, August 14. A motion that the number of motorised -cycles__ajid scooters should be brought before the Transport Depart niefit, that tlie.se machines slioull undergo some fonn of licensing, was passed at today's meeting of the executive of the Nortli Island Moto: Union. The number of the.se maehyies appearing on the roads was increasing rapidly, it was statod and as, in .some instances, they cotild reach a speed jf 30 m.p.h., it was felt that they presented as great a potential dange: on the roads as other vehicles. Mr. T. M. N. Rodgers said that many of these machines were beinj, used in Palmerston Nortli. They consisled of a normal bicvcle powered with a low liorsepower motor.
