NEW TASMAN FLYINGBOATS
IJeceived Thursday, S.30 p.m. CANBEPRA, August 14. That four Solent flyingboats are to be purchased to replace the present planes on the trans-Tasman service, was announced this afternoon following a meeting of ihe youth Pacilic Air Transport Council. It was decided that British Conimonwealth Pacilic Airllnes would take over the operation of the Pacilic service at present operated bv Australian National Airways under charter. The policv laid down for the operation of the services bv British Conimonwealth Pacific Airlines and Tasman Empirc Airways was "that thc coinpanies should be left with the greatest initiative in the day to- dav management of their affairs in rolation to the Governnient ovcrriding interest in major policy and linance. "
