FINAL FORCE FOR PEACE
PUBLIC OPINION MUST BE MOBILISED The final force that can make a success of the United Nations is the force of public opinion. It is very important that public opinion be mobilised in support of the United Nations if the world is to have lasting peace. Recognition of this need has already been giveri in a number of countries, where branches of the United Nations Association have been formed with members from all groups and classes of .society with the object of ensuring that the hopes- of the people for peace 'will not be disappointed. 'A meeting is being held in the Century Hall on Thursday, August 21, to consider the formation of a branch of the United Nations Association in Levin. It has been said that if the future of the United Nations is left in ,the hands of a few, however capable or sincere, the opening words of the preamble to the Charter, "We the people," will remain a myth. \ Every citizen of the . town ar d district should attend this meeting to help build up a world concept of citizenship which will lead the man in' the'street'the world Over to look to the United Nations to he.lp him solve his problems.
