SCHOOL IMPROVEMENTS
: — r-r— v —7; : BOARD CHAIRMAN VISITS OTAKI Mr. Seddon, chairman of the Wellington Education Board, was in Otaki yesterday and met members of the Otaki State School Committee. As a result it will be unnecessary for the depuration appointed to wait on the board in regard to the overcrowded accommodation at the school. It is now possible that at no distant date three extra rooms will be erected at the school, it being recognised that these are necessary to ease the present position. The construction of the swimming pool, however, is likely to be left in abeyance, but the matter will be advanced. The purchase of necessary land for school purposes was favoured, while Mr. Seddon promised that the board's architect would make an inspection of the school buildings, with a view to effecting slight improvements, boards in some places being rotten.
