Received Monday, 7 p.m. LONDON, August 11. Roval ordnance factories in Britaiu which during the war made bombs, shells and bullels, are today makiug refrigerators, f'urniture and household fittings. There are now 40,000 men an'! women working in 22 ordnance fac tories but onlv balf of them are em ployed on arms manufacture. At Woolwich arsenal, for instance, railvvav wagons are being, built and thousauds are being repaired. Corrugated iron. originally intende'd for shelters, is being turned into roofing and fences. In tlue potterv disfrict cartridge cases are being turned into brass sheet and in another area a-nmunition is being broken down to recover the steol, brass and copper. Ammonium nitrate fertiliser is being made from explosives.
