Motorist's Surprise

A surprise awaitea a motorist visiting Wellington recently wHen, on returning to his parked car, he found a note attached to his steering wheel, the writer stating that he had accidentally bumped the right mudguard of the visitor's car. Following an apology, he had added his name and telephone number. Actually the damage was not great, but the owner was so surprised and appreciative of this unusual instance of road courtesy that he rang the driver concerned and thanked him for his consideration, paying the bill for the damaged mudguard himself.
