UNIQUE ASSIGNMENT
TOOK TWO FltLIES TO INDIA Mr. Robin McGregor, son of Mr. and Mrs. George S. McGregor, of Hokio, Levin, recently landed at Bombay, India, in the course of a linique 'assignment. Some mo'nuis ago two fillies were phrchased in New Zealand by a firm of stock and statioh agents on befialf of the Maharaja bf Kashhiir, and' Mr." McGregor was placed ihcharge of them for the. 'long journey to their new owner. Mr. McGregor sail'ed with th'e hqrses from Wellington on April 11 and at Sydney they were unloaded and taken overland to Melbourne and on to Freemartle, the journey oecupying two months. From there they left by the Norwegian ship Hoegh Silver Star for Colombo and then Bombay, where they arrived on Jhly 13. The fillies, which are, both two-year-olds, are Blithe Spirit and Night Ops. Despite their long journey they arrived in excellent condition and will now carry the Kashmir colours before being retired to the stud. Mr McGregor will be returning to New Zealand shortly.
